Cross country skiing at Balneario de Panticosa

Taking a cross country skiing course up at the Balneario de Panticosa at the moment. Saturday was the first class and it was snowing quite heavily which made it really pretty.

There are three pistes there ranging from a beginners green run of 1.5km to the red run of 5.5km. There not the longest but it’s a really pretty spot and the snow there is great at the moment.

Cross country skiing is a bit trickier than it looks and the skis feel ridiculously thin at first if you’re used to alpine skis. The fresh snow made things a lot easier than when it’s icy though.

There were a couple of groups ice diving in the frozen over lake – crazy!

Course runs every morning for another month so looking forward to getting out and trying more cross country.
